Group 13: Tianshu Li, Guorui Wen, Linrui Liang, Yuanzhou Chen

Guorui Wen:

Hello, everyone! We the students arrived and started our summer camp on July the twenty-fourth and twenty-fifth. Nine days have already past until now. Today, we the group of four are glad to talk in front of everybody about something we have experienced and learned, and how we feel during the nine days. We will speak in order. Thank you for your patience. Now welcome Linrui Liang.
On the first morning in America, we played some games to know each other. We made some new friends and helped one another. After that, we took some lessons. We learnt useful methods of thinking and solving problems. Then we had our contests, and we were given a few lectures by some famous professors and doctors. There was also a talent show and a field trip. Among these what I really want to tell you is the different classroom style in America. Compared with classrooms in China, what I have felt is a creative and relaxed atmosphere. I mean, the class is still in order, but you can feel free to ask a question, speak in public and share your idea with others. I would also like to make a mention about the food. Food here, in the College of New Jersey is not so tasty as in China, but I think it is healthier than that in China. You would have multiple choices on what you eat and what you drink.
So in a word, I have experienced a different kind of culture and some different ways of thinking. It would be a memory that I would never forget. Also, I would like to thank our counselors, for their pay in taking good care of us. They showed great patience and capability in all the activities. I really, really want to express heartfelt thanks to all the counselors and other people who together hold this summer camp.

Ladies and gentlemen, It’s my honor to stand here. What an outdated start! Maybe I should change my start before.
Well, I have to say that I’ve got a lot of things during the summer camp. I didn’t think I can see so advanced math theory, well. They are really advanced to me. I just heard them in the past, but now this activity gives me a chance to truly learn them. Besides the lecture which is about those math theory, I like the math test here. It’s different from Chinese math test, it is more interesting, the solutions of the questions are incredible, well, they are incredible to me. I have learnt a lot during the summer camp.
The tour to the Museum is another thing I didn’t expect. I thought all the activities will be inside the college. It brought me a big surprise. The things there made me know more about the other culture. I saw a relief there, it told me a Roman myth, I liked that story very much, but I am not going to share it here.
The happiest thing to me is the progress of my English. I will not know I can speak English so good without my friends. I want to thanks all the people who helped me, especially Adam. He helped me overcome the fear of talking to foreigners.

Yuanzhou Chen:

First, we arrived at TCNJ on July 24th. On the second day we play games in a group to know each other. After the ice breaking, we have begun the most important part during the camp. I think everyone could guess it. That’s right, it’s the contest. The questions in the contest are very hard. Some of the students who have taken part in it may be such intelligent.
Then, the lecture also helps me a lot. The teachers are all come from famous universitys. They also pay lots of time and patience on us. During this camp, I found that there’s huge difference between China and US’s education. The classroom sitting the study atmosphere, even the schedule in a day in are all have great difference. In the US, we have relaxing study environment, but in China, we sit near to each other closely.
On during the camp, we also have a interesting field trip. We visited one of the most famous university – Princeton University. We also enjoyed the beautiful paintings in the Art Museum. This trip is full of fun. But unfortunately, we have a big rain that all of my clothes become wet.
At last, I’m going to thank my counselors, they show the patience on us. They helps me a lot. Thank you.

I learned that be always working together is very important from the team round and the relay round. And I also make some friends and taste a lot of American food according to this trip. Totally, I think this trip is very exciting, interesting, unforgettable and also very valuable. Thank you!

Tianshu Li:

At last, I want to thank a lot of people, without these people, I would never have such a great summer camp.
First I want to thank the counselors and professors, the counselors took care of us during the camp, and solve our problems, and the professors gave us lectures about interesting and difficult math theories. I’ve never heard before, when I have questions, they can answer them. I felt free to ask questions have: and I am very grateful to them.
And Dr. Hu, Dr. Dan, they spent their time and energy to plan the tournament and lectures and field trips, these great activities for us. Also the excellent students from all over China. America and Canada, during the first week, I can’t understand the lectures in English very well, my friends they retell the knowledge to me, or I want be able to learn such and rancid math theory. Our teachers help each other during the tournament, also, we bring each other happiness.
I want to thank my parents and my teacher, they give me support during the earlier part of the tournament, without their help, I want be able to stand here or work with such excellent students like you guys, or learn so many things.
