Dr. Mark Saul

Director of Competitions, Mathematical Association of America. He has served as chief guide and coordinator for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) since 1981, and directed the Center for Mathematical Talent, an outreach program of the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University. He served as consultant in gifted education for the John Templeton Foundation and program officer for the National Science Foundation. In this last position he directed the funding of teacher education and curriculum development programs, including the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. He was a recipient of this award in 1984, the highest honor in the US for classroom teaching.

Mr. Yang

Mr. Yang graduated from the Department of Mathematics of Beijing Normal University and received a postgraduate degree in mathematics from the University of the South Pacific.
Since 1994, he has been teaching mathematics in middle schools in Fiji, India, United Arab Emirates and many cities in China, such as Beijing, Shenzhen, Hong Kong etc. Mr. Yang achieved Chinese National Olympiad Coach qualification in 1995. He started working with IB schools in 2004 and then became an IB examiner in 2007, he participated in the preparatory work of the first edition of the MYP textbook of Haese. In 2015, he also participated in MYP mathematics curriculum review. In 2018, he wrote DP math exercises for Kognity online textbook and successfully organized the East Asia Math Competition. Mr. Yang helped establishing the mathematics curriculum from MYP to DP for Keystone Academy, Dubai International Academy (Al Barsha) and Shenzhen Meisha Bilingual School. In 2024 and 2025, Mr. Yang achieved Math Kangaroo Global Academic Contribution Award. Currently, he is the Head of the Mathematics Department in Beijing World Youth Academy.
